Hands-on-Highlands
Hands-On-Highlands is a quarterly, rotating program that engages students in experiential, hands-on learning opportunities that facilitate critical thinking skills.
Hands-On Learning Areas
- Growing Greater (agriculture/horticulture): This class focuses on the science and art of cultivating plants, as well as the principles and practices of farming and sustainable living.
- Building Today (woodworking): This class focuses on the skills, tools, and techniques required to create objects from wood. It combines creativity, craftsmanship, and technical knowledge.
- Lego Robotics: This class combines engineering, coding, and creativity to teach students how to program robots that execute tasks. Combining all aspects of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), this class sparks curiosity and builds confidence to tackle complex challenges.
