I am filled with immense gratitude and pride as I reflect on our school’s recent recognition: the 2024 Andy Klein Legacy Award. This prestigious honor, presented by the Harford County Chamber of Commerce, celebrates organizations that make a meaningful difference in our community. Receiving this award in the name of Andy Klein, who was a remarkable philanthropist and dedicated community member, is truly humbling.
At The Highlands School, we are committed to nurturing the unique potential of each student, particularly those with learning differences and achievement gaps. This recognition serves as a powerful reminder of our mission and inspires us to continue our work with even greater passion and dedication.
The Harford Awards highlight the incredible contributions of local organizations, and we are proud to be a part of such a vibrant community. Andy Klein’s legacy of generosity and commitment to helping others resonates deeply with our own values of excellence, integrity, perseverance, self-awareness, relationships and hope.
We were honored to accept this award during a beautiful ceremony at the Water’s Edge Event Center on October 22, 2024. The event brought together many local leaders and organizations, all united by a shared goal of uplifting Harford County.
As we move forward, I want to express my heartfelt thank you to the Harford County Chamber of Commerce for this recognition. It reinforces our belief in the importance of community, and I am excited to continue collaborating with our neighbors to make a lasting impact.
To our staff, families, and students: thank you for your unwavering support and dedication. Together, we will continue to create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
With gratitude,
Claudia Nachtigal
